Gozo Traffic
Gozo · Live conditions, incidents and cameras
Gozo traffic is generally lighter than Malta, but ferry terminal congestion at both Ċirkewwa (Malta side) and Mġarr (Gozo side) can add 30+ minutes to a crossing during summer Sundays and public holidays.
Our Ċirkewwa Ferry Terminal camera shows the car-entry queue live — the single most useful piece of data when planning a Gozo trip. Victoria's town centre (Triq ir-Repubblika) congests around the market and during the evening passeggiata.
If you're heading to Comino or the inland sea, the Mġarr → Victoria → Xlendi/San Lawrenz route is the standard. Check the map for any closures on the Marsalforn Road.

Parking
Gozo parking is generally easy by Malta standards. Victoria has a large open lot near the bus terminus and another by Independence Square. Mġarr ferry terminal has paid parking for vehicles that are returning to Malta by passenger ferry.
Outside Victoria, even popular beach destinations (Ramla, Xlendi) usually have free street or unpaved-lot parking within a 5-minute walk of the bay. Marsalforn is the exception — paid parking only in summer.
See our full Malta parking guide for prices, time limits and warden patterns.
Public transport alternatives
Gozo runs a complete bus network from Victoria. Routes radiate out to Mġarr, Marsalforn, Xlendi, Ramla, San Lawrenz and every other village. Day tickets are cheap and cover Malta as well if you cross back.
For Comino, take a small ferry from Mġarr — much faster than going around via the Malta-side ferry route. If you only want the Blue Lagoon, do not bring a car to Gozo at all: use the Valletta fast ferry to Mġarr and connect to the Comino boats.
